Circular Imprint is the outcome of investigations into Natural dye and traditional itajime clamping. Taking inspiration from traditional processes performed by artisans it focuses on the communication between colour and shape in textile design. The carefully measured and folded construction of the dyed textile requires time and effort, mirroring the steps we are required to take towards a more sustainable fashion cycle. The exploration of colour is the main focus of this process to gain an understanding of the potential of natural materials to create colour in textiles.
The colours were created through collected materials and natural dye powders including commercial rose extract, boysenberries, avocado and onion skins, which are known for their lightfast and substantive qualities
